About the Body Bus and YOUR DEXA

DEXA, or Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry, is a medical imaging technology primarily used to measure bone mineral density (BMD). The Body Bus will perform your scan and go over your results regarding your body-fat, lean muscle mass, bone density, and more.

 DEXA scans:

  1. Bone Density Measurement: DEXA scans are particularly effective in measuring the mineral content and density of bones, especially in the spine, hips, and forearm.

  2. Low Radiation Exposure: DEXA scans use a minimal amount of X-ray radiation, making them a relatively safe method for bone density assessment.

  3. Body Composition Analysis: In addition to bone density, DEXA scans can also provide information about body composition by measuring the amount of fat and lean tissue in the body. This makes it useful for assessing overall health and fitness..

  4. Quick and Non-Invasive: The DEXA scanning process is quick and non-invasive, requiring the patient to lie down on a table while the scanner passes over the body.
